As a founding partner in the Law Firm of Spencer & Sundstrom, PLLC, Chris Sundstrom represents clients throughout Southwest Washington in the areas of domestic relations (family law), criminal defense/traffic infractions, and estate planning/probate law. He was admitted to practice in Washington State in 1993 and the United States District Court for the Western District of Washington in 1994.
Chris received his Juris Doctorate degree (JD) from Seattle University School of Law (formerly the University of Puget Sound School of Law) in 1992. Prior to law school, Chris received a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in Criminal Justice from Washington State University in 1984 where he was also recognized with national honors (Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Kappa Phi, and as a distinguished military graduate, R.O.T.C). From 1984 to 1988 Chris proudly served in the United States Army and served from 1988 until 2002 in the United States Army Reserves. He was honorably discharged having attained the rank of Major U.S. Army Reserves.
From 1994 to 2008, Chris served as the prosecuting attorney for the cities of Battle Ground, Ridgefield, and La Center, Washington and represented the City of Ridgefield, Washington as the city attorney from 2007 through 2011.
Chris is a member in good standing of the Clark County Bar Association and the Washington State Bar Association. Chris was also the past president of the Clark County Volunteer Lawyers Program, Board of Directors, and was recognized as Volunteer of the Year in 2003. Chris also served as a Clark County Bar Association trustee from 2005 through 2008 and was recognized with the Clark County Bar Association’s President’s award for his efforts in revitalizing the County Bar Association’s continuing education program. Chris has served as judge pro tempore in both Clark County Superior and District courts.
On a more personal level, Chris is married to Stacy Sundstrom and has three children, Mitchell, Katelyn, and Cameron. When he is not serving the needs of his clients, he enjoys all outdoors activities, as well as country living. Chris is very proud of his affiliation with and support of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and Ducks Unlimited. Chris is a committee member of the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation’s Vancouver Chapter. He also recently graduated from the Mount St. Helen’s Institute’s Volcano Naturalist program where he hopes to assist those visiting one of North America’s most active volcanos.
